Obituary for John J. Hoffman


John J. Hoffman, 74, of Gainesville, Florida passed away peacefully on
March 26th, 2023, after a long struggle with health issues.

John Hoffman was a loyal and respectful soul who was committed to
justice and keeping his community safe. After working as an Auxiliary
Trooper for the Florida Highway Patrol, John worked as a Security
Supervisor for most of his life.

John was born in Miami, Florida in January of 1949 and graduated from
Miami Senior High School in 1966. He retired to Gainesville, Florida
in 2017.

John Hoffman is survived by his wife, Carla, two daughters, Andrea and
Brenda, and sister, Valerie Swanson, as well as his beloved dog,
Furby. John was predeceased by his parents, Gene, and Jean Hoffman.

He will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread alongside his beloved
dog's ashes when it is her time to go. The family will hold a Private service at a later date.

Just learned of John's passing. My heart is so sad. We had lots of great laughs walking home from the bus. He was so kind and carried my heavy books. I'll always remember how sweet you were. Love and prayers to his wife and children..

Jamie Faulconer

John was such a sweet soul and had great sense of humor.  We loved being in band. He wished me happy birthdays and I was looking forward to hearing from again but I learned of the sad news of his passing before that ocurred. My condolences to his dear family. Jamie Faulconer
