"Robert, Jr" Sims

After graduating from MHS I attended Florida State University for three years. I roomed with David Freedman my freshman and junior year. I applied to dental school at the beginning of my junior year and was accepted at Emory University School of Dentistry for the fall of 1969. I married my high school sweetheart, Nancy Walker (Coral Park 1968) on July 3, 1969 and we moved to Atlanta Georgia for four years. I graduated from dental school in June of 1973 and returned to Miami where I served a one year general practice residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. After the residency I went into private practice in South Miami joining a group in 1974 where I practiced the next forty years. I spent the last 10 years as a solo practioner with Nancy as my office manager.

Nancy and I have two daughters. Kathleen Veach (Ryan) is a school teacher in Hampton, South Carolina. They have a six year old son, Ryan. Christine Cunningham (Sean) is a nurse in Atlanta Georgia. Christy and Sean have two children David is 11 and Sarah 9.

Since retiring, Nancy and I have been enjoying our grand children and I am dealing with some health issues. I gave up a leg to diabetes in October 2014. My hobbies include fishing and hunting. Between the hobbies and the grand children we haven’t missed working at all.
